How to Prepare for Your Marine Licence Exam

Introduction: Getting a Marine licence is an exciting step for any water enthusiast. Proper preparation is key to passing the boat licence exam and enjoying safe boating adventures.

 

  1. Understanding the Marine Licence Exam: For the Marine licence test there is 30 multiple choice questions and for the Personal Watercraft Endorsement test (Jet-Ski) there is 15 multiple choice questions.
  2. Enrol in a Marine Licence course: Make sure it is Safe Transport Victoria Accredited.
  3. Take Practice Tests: Practice tests are an excellent way to prepare for the written exam. Visit the safetransport.vic.gov.au website. Click on Maritime, then click on Marine licence practice tests.
  4. Hands-On Experience: If possible, get hands-on experience by practising with a licensed boater. This practical experience will boost your confidence and skills.

Conclusion: Preparing for your Marine licence test can only improve your results in the Marine Licence test. (This is not mandatory).
